12th July Update: Regardless of government guidlines, Derma Reading will require all patients to wear a mask when in the building, unless they have an exemption. In the event that a patient has forgotten their mask, we will happily provide one.

Derma Reading will remain open during the national lockdown announced by Boris Johnson on Monday 4 January as it was specifically confirmed that you can leave home for medical appointments.  However, in line with the guidance that you must not leave home except where necessary, we would ask that you consider whether a video or telephone consultation would work for you. 

In addition to the regular safety protocols of a medical clinic, we have implemented the following solutions;

• The doors open without needing to be touched, reducing contact points;
• Hand sanitiser is available throughout the building;
• The reception is spacious, allowing social distancing whilst you wait for your appointment, however, if preferred, you can also wait in the safety of your car and we will let you know when the dermatologist is ready to see you;
• All points of contact – including seating - will be wiped down between patients;
• The building is fitted with ventilation in all rooms, which removes air from the rooms and replaces it with filtered air from outside, instead of simply circulating recycled air. 

For the reassurance of others, we kindly ask that you wear a mask when you are inside the building unless requested to remove it by a doctor or nurse, or are medically exempt from wearing one.
