Non Surgical Facelift

The Venus Versa Tribella treatment effectively combines the restorative effects of three powerful treatments; photofacial, anti-aging and skin resurfacing to provide patients with youthful, glowing skin.

Over time, our skin may start to show the effects of sun damage, hormonal changes, natural ageing, and other lifestyle factors. This often results in age spots, which appear as small, flat areas of dark skin.  These permanent marks are a result of ultraviolet (UV) exposure forming concentrated areas of melanin production. These marks of discolouration can be especially prominent in people with lighter skin tones; however, they can affect people of all skin types and tones. As skin ages we may also start to see lines and wrinkles form as well as a loss of volume, resulting in sagging skin that is less defined.

Whilst skin aging is a natural process that will happen to us all, for many people it may cause feelings of insecurity and in some cases, can make a person appear older or more tired than they feel.

At Derma, there is a range of treatments that safely and effectively treat patients to better match how they feel on the inside with their outward appearance.

We offer the following anti-ageing treatments:

These anti-wrinkle injections temporarily relax the muscles in the face, leaving a smoother and younger appearance. Unlike cosmetic creams and beauty treatments, Botox injections directly target the muscles under the skin and thus are far more affective.

Some people may want to take a more permanent route to reduce their signs of ageing with a surgical face lift. Whilst this may seem like a desirable option, there are many risks involved and results cannot be guaranteed. Just like any invasive surgery, there is a risk of infection, as well as being left with thick and obvious scars, with an extensive, often painful recovery time. In response to this growing market, we are proud to offer our patients the Venus Versa Tribella treatment, the non-invasive, hugely effective “non-surgical facelift”.

The Venus Versa Tribella treatment effectively combines the restorative effects of three powerful treatments; photofacial, anti-aging and skin resurfacing to provide patients with youthful, glowing skin.

If you struggle with areas of discolouration, uneven skin pigmentation and vascular lesions and want to treat those areas of damage whilst improving texture and elasticity, then the Venus Versa Tribella facial rejuvenation treatment may be right for you. This high intensity, non-invasive treatment is the ideal solution for visible results that last.

What is the benefit of the Venus Versa Tribella treatment?

Unlike most cosmetic treatments and creams that tend to camouflage the superficial layers of the skin, the advanced Tribella treatment penetrates the deeper layers of the skin, generating heat that is absorbed by the targeted tissue. This ensures that an optimal, precise, and consistent energy is maintained to provide the best possible results.

Unlike any other service on the market, Tribella combines three powerful treatments to achieve the best results: photofacial treatment, anti-ageing treatment and the skin-resurfacing treatment. This highly effective combination yields staggering results against most signs of skin damage such as uneven skin tone and texture, sun spots, wrinkles, and vascular lesions.

Who is the Venus Versa Tribella treatment suitable for?

The Venus Versa Tribella treatment is suitable for anyone suffering from signs of skin ageing such as lines, wrinkles and uneven pigmentation, however not all patients are suitable for the treatment. You may not be able to receive treatment if you have excessively tanned skin, a history of skin disorders, implants in the treatment area, or an active condition that can be stimulated by light or heat.

As the treatment is powered by Intense Pulsed Light, it targets the pigment in your skin. Therefore, it tends to work best for light to medium skin tones, because the heightened stimulation poses a greater risk of discolouration to patients with more pigment in their skin. Darker skin types may be candidates for the treatments separately, but not necessarily together in one session. This can be discussed with the specialist dermatology nurse at your initial consultation.

In order to experience optimal results from your Tribella treatment, we recommend a course of three, however single treatments can also be purchased. You will see some results after the treatment series is complete, but full, best results are visible approximately three months after the last session. The Tribella treatments are performed 4-5 weeks apart and will take approximately 2 hours per session.

What is the process of the Tribella treatment?

To determine whether you are a suitable candidate for the Tribella treatment, you will first undergo a consultation with the specialist dermatology nurse, who will take your medical history and examine the area to be treated. They will also explain all the potential side-effects, to enable you to decide whether this is the right treatment option for you- you do not have to decide on the spot.

If it is suitable to proceed, you will need a patch test to test the suitability of your skin. This is then assessed at between 48 hours and 5 days, depending on your skin type. When you return to have the site assessed, if it is safe to do so, then the treatment can be carried out.

The area to be treated will need to be clean, so you cannot use any creams or lotions beforehand – which includes makeup, so you may want to keep that in mind when planning your day. You will need to remove any jewellery near the area.

The Tribella Venus Versa combines three unique procedures into one complete skin renewal treatment:

  1. Photofacial treatment: This uses Intense Pulsed Light, commonly known as IPL, to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and sun damage. The light targets and reduces the haemoglobin pigment inside visible blood vessels and dark pigmented spots. The result is clearer, glowing, youthful-looking skin. The photofacial treatment may feel like a light snap against your skin, whilst this may be slightly uncomfortable, the real-time cooling system ensures your skin is protected from the heat, ensuring the treatment is as comfortable and as painless as possible.
  2. Anti-ageing treatment: This element of the treatment combines energy types to produce heat under the skin. This helps to promote healthy blood flow and increase the production of collagen and elastin fibres. The result is skin that looks firmer, younger, and with fewer lines or wrinkles. Whilst this treatment uses heat, it is generally considered warm and comfortable by most patients and has been described as a hot stone massage
  3. Skin resurfacing treatment: This treatment improves the skin’s texture by delivering channels of energy deep into the skin, using tiny electrode pins to create micro-dermal wounds with minimal impact on the epidermis. As the skin heals, it naturally boosts collagen and elastin production for total skin renewal. This is the final step of the treatment, meaning the skin will have been heavily stimulated. Therefore, the resurfacing treatment may be less comfortable than the other two, and you may feel a pricking sensation as the applicator moves around your skin. If you are ever uncomfortable or are experiencing any pain, advise your dermatology nurse, who will endeavour to make the experience as comfortable as possible for you.

What are the Risks and Complications of the Tribella treatment?

If the patient meets all criteria to have the Tribella treatment, it is quite safe and effective in properly trained hands, but it is possible to have complications, and in most cases, they would be minor – such as scabbing, tenderness or swelling in the areas that have been treated.

If complications occur, follow your aftercare instructions, and the clinic will be able to recommend a prescription antibiotic cream if necessary. Never use any treatment other than what the dermatologist has advised if you have complications.

If you have underlying medical conditions or are regularly taking medications, it is essential that you let your dermatologist know when they take your medical history during the consultation.

As the treatment involves using Intense Pulsed Light and creating minor wounds, you may experience some skin sensitivity and tenderness. It is essential that you do not use tanning beds, artificial tanning lotions or expose yourself to direct sunlight.

Following your treatment your skin may feel warm, as if it had been sun burnt, and may remain red for a few days. Be sure to follow your after-care instructions to minimise any discomfort from your treatment.

What is the Recovery Time and Outcome for the Tribella treatment?

After receiving the Tribella treatment you will want to ensure you are following the appropriate follow-up care instructions. While you’ll need to be staying well away from UV exposure (for 1 month after the treatment), once you have been told it is appropriate to use a lotion on the skin, make sure you are using an SPF of at least factor 30 in the area that’s been treated.

Avoid applying anything to the face aside from what is recommended by your treatment provider and the treatment instructions. When you can put on makeup after a few days, be sure to apply sun protection.

You should also avoid hot baths and rigorous exercise for at least 48 hours after treatment, and the clinic will let you know if you might have to wait longer. You will not be able to do hot yoga or use a sauna. You should expect 3-5 days downtime.

You should expect to see the remarkable results from your Tribella treatment approximately 3 months after your last session. Your dermatology nurse will discuss your own customized maintenance program to ensure you continue to enjoy your youthful appearance.
