Dr Rima Clayton - Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Rima Clayton is a UK trained Consultant Dermatologist who practises in Reading and Oxford. She is fully trained, in both paediatric and adult dermatology, and is on the GMC specialist register. Dr Clayton undertook her undergraduate training at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London and obtained a Clinical Sciences BSC(Hons) from Imperial College before graduating in 1999.
Rima entered into dermatology with her first post as a Senior House Office at Amersham Hospital. Following on from this, she pursued her dermatology higher specialist training in Oxford where she developed a particular interest in skin cancer management and dermatological surgery. Her further interest in paediatric dermatology came from time spent at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Dr Clayton has presented both nationally and internationally on a wide range of conditions ranging from skin cancer management to inflammatory conditions in children and adults. She has published widely as well as having contributed to several dermatology books.
Dr Rima Clayton has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 2008 and worked initially at the Royal Berkshire Hospital where she was the clinical lead and the skin cancer Multidisciplinary lead for many years. She now also practises at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford and continues to be a member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team at both hospitals.
Rima absolutely loves dermatology, particularly surgery. She is never happier than with a scalpel in hand to remove a mole, and is very proud of the aesthetic results from her work, with many patients not being able to see their scars afterwards.
Rima is a mother of three children, Mia, Jessica and Kieran, who all keep her busy when she gets time off from work. She loves cooking (and eating!), going for walks and visiting new places.
